- Wilderness First Aid
- This is our flagship course. This course is designed to introduce the student to the skills necessary to provide First Aid in an extended care situation. Although originally intended to address the back country and expedition leader's First Aid needs, it is also useful in post disaster or isolated environments. We use a “Steps to Case Resolution” approach that starts with preparedness and extends from situation assessment through treatment and evacuation. The focus is on leadership, team, skills and improvisation. This course is a superset of the BSA, American Red Cross, ASHI and ECSI WFA courses. It consists of two very long training days including a series of practicum scenarios.
- Wilderness First Aid, Boy Scouts of America
- This is a subset of our flagship course. It covers those things, and only those things, in the BSA standard. This course meets the current (2010 revision) BSA standards for high adventure activities and high adventure bases. We normally recommend that people needing this requirement take our regular Wilderness First Aid course which includes all the elements of this course and then receive this certification in addition to the regular one. We will teach this course for groups who need just this certification and would have trouble completing our main course.
Pre-requiste: CPR
- Wilderness First Aid, Challenge
- Students with skills may earn a new or re-certification through this course by passing an online or on site written exam and by demonstrating adequate skills in a series of field scenarios. This is intended to be a “proof of competency” route to certification.
- Wilderness First Aid, Extended
